Digital protection of intellectual property

A blockchain is a decentralized public ledger kept simultaneously by thousands of independent servers. Once a record is added, nobody can change or delete it.

Upload a file and create its digital fingerprint on the Ethereum blockchain. We never store or see the file, only its hash and metadata.

Certificate of Hash Registration

PROOF OF EXISTENCE AND INTEGRITY OF A DIGITAL FILE

This is to certify that the cryptographic fingerprint of the file described below has been permanently recorded on the Ethereum blockchain. The file itself is not stored; its hash may be independently verified by any party at any time.

VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
1. Compute the SHA-256 hash of the original file.
2. Open the transaction in any Ethereum block explorer.
3. Compare the values: identical hashes confirm the same file.

This certificate attests that a file with the hash stated above existed no later than the block timestamp. Any alteration of the file, even of a single bit, produces a different hash.

How to verify a file

  1. Open the record in the blockchain

The certificate contains a QR link to the transaction. It opens in Etherscan, the public Ethereum explorer, where you can see the recorded hash and the date and time the block was created. The hash confirms that the file of your project was in your hands at the moment the hash was created.

  2. Compare the two hashes

The hash of your file must match the recorded one character for character. A match means it is exactly the same file. Renaming the file does not change the hash, but any edit, re-export or conversion does. Be sure to keep the original file or project and the hash certificate unchanged.
